DAYS OF OUR ‘LIVES’

I am in a
production of PRIVATE LIVES by Noël Coward.  I am having a blast doing this classic British comedy from 1930, playing Victor - the role originated by

a young Lawrence Olivier!

It runs Feb. 18th through March 25th.  For more info click here.

Here is what the critics are saying:

“Private Lives is a very public example of how a great play done well is indeed timeless.  Witzke brings to life to the oft-played character with a bold and unique personification that blends wit and desperation.”

“A gifted cast... as the 'extra puppets' (Mr. Coward's term)
Witzke and Abrams are impressive."

- The Los Angeles Times

"...a superior ensemble that mesh together like clockwork... Witzke fits the role divinely."

- Broadwayworld.com

"A top notch cast... Abrams is a wide-eyed, Kewpie Doll-cute charmer opposite a deliciously stiff-shirted Witzke’s Victor."

-Stage Scene LA

"An A-Class, award worthy effort in every aspect … this is an absolute must see for theatre enthusiasts!"

-Tolucan Times

A ‘BAND’ OF MERRY MEN

TBS has a new comedy, “The Wedding Band,” and guess who spent a day hanging with the boys of the band?  That’s right - I am the Emcee of a Seattle Charity event that gets crashed Boy-Band-Style by Brain Austin Green (90210) and Harold Perrineau (Lost) and special guest star Greg Germann (Ally McBeal).

A MOVIE WITH BITE!

My career
is going to the dogs... literally!  I worked a day on a new Disney film:  Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 (a straight to DVD feature).  Unfortunately I did not get to work with the dogs... but had a woof of a good time playing a disgruntled cook in at a fancy hotel restaurant.  Look for it in 2012!

Salmon anyone?

I WANT MY MTV!

So here is my music video debut! Me and the boys from the band ALL TIME LOW in their video for:

A SHORT ‘LAST DAY’

An office worker wins the Lottery and makes his last day one to remember.  That’s the premise of the short film: “Things To Do On Your Last Day.”  I play the ‘Big Boss’ who is not pleased - AT ALL.  What a fun day!  Mike Erwin plays the office worker, and the hilarious Drew Droege plays my side kick.  The brain child of the amazing Dirk Craft (who directed my episode of ‘Nip/Tuck’) - it is such a pleasure to work with great people, making a fun short, and laughing all day long.

AN ‘ASSIST’ ON THE WEB

I got a call from my good friends Heather and Morgan Simpson asking if I would help out on their web pilot - and I said yes before even asking what it was.  They are so fun and amazing I knew I would not be disappointed.    And I wasn’t!  “Assisted Living”, is about a company of celebrity assistants who have to deal with the ups and downs and bizarre requests of the Hollywood elite.  We had a lot of laughs while shooting, can’t wait to see how it turned out.

NOVEL IDEA!

Author Bart Cleveland asked me to read some excerpts from his new novel:  The Purification.  A cool, fun, thriller - the recordings can be found on the book’s website:
www.thepurification.com.  Hit the ‘Excerpts’ tab and you can listen to parts of several chapters.

VAMPIRES SUCK’ NOMINATED!!!

Not for
an Oscar... but just the opposite - A Razzie!  According to the directors of the film (Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer) all of their films get the high honor of a Razzie nomination.  Not only is ‘Vampires Suck’ nominated for worst film of the year - but Jason and Aaron are nominated for worst director.  I think this is the case where it is just an honored to be nominated, but you are happy not to win.  (and with ‘The Bounty Hunter’ and ‘Sex In The City 2’ in the running, I think we will be fine)  I take this as a plus, that people are still talking about the film.  Any publicity, people - any publicity...

‘HOUSE HUSBANDS’ AT IT AGAIN!

We shot
the next installment of our web-series “House Husbands.”  It takes place at a yard sale and the best part was the number of people who drove by and stopped thinking it was a real yard sale!  Hilarious.  We are planning on writing and shooting several more in the new year.  Very fun to be ‘back in production.’

I AM IN AN ‘ADULT’ FILM!

I went to New York to be a part of my good bud, Jason Reitman’s newest film, “Young Adult.”  Written by the fabulous Diablo Cody - it stars Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson.  I had a great trip to the Big Apple and spent a couple days in New City, NY to be a part of a big family gathering in the film where Charlize’s character makes a scene.  It was great to hang once again with Jason and the film crew family watching people do amazing work.  Here’s to another fine film!

On set with Britney, friend and DP Eric Steelberg and yes... was so cold - my face was frozen that way.  Brrrrrr.

‘PERECT’ TIME TOGETHER

I had the honor of
working again with director, Andy Ackerman (New Adventures of Old Christine) on a new NBC show, “Perfect Couples.”   It was a blast working with Christine Woods  and Kyle Bornheimer.  The episode should air sometime in February, 2011

HEY MOM, I’M IN THE TRAILER!

So I can finally let everyone know the film I shot earlier this year is called “Vampires Suck” and is a parody of ”Twilight.”    I spoof the Peter Facinelli role of the father of the vampire family.

The trailer is finally out and if you look - you will see a bit of blonde Witzke!

PLAYING WITH THE ‘WORKAHOLICS”

I
just shot an episode of the new Comedy Central show  “Workaholics.”  I play a snarky, preppy businessman (imagine that) the guys run into at a wine and cheese networking event.  They eventually bail on the event to go to an “Insane Clown Posse” concert and come back to wreak havoc.  The series won’t start airing until February of next year.
